LISE WATIER Rouge Gourmand Guamauve *****

8 Mar

This lipstick is my new boyfriend – & it almost never made the first date!

Forced upon me by the brand, never have I appriciated a match up so much! Gaumauve is one of two beautiful shades found in the Spring Collection launched in February. A purple based mauve, it feels a little moody while still laying graciously feminine. As with all Rough Gourmand shades, this product moisturizes lips & lasts through out the night.

To be completely honest, I very rarely will wear lipstick off set – usually not being bother with fussing with it. This product changed that and I’ve lately become some what of an overenthusiast for great shades. Loving this Canadian brand more and more – I suggest you keep and eye out for what Lise Watier has coming!

* Felt great on sensitive skin. Did not dry out while wearing.
* Quick on, long lasting color
* Easy to use tube, great color for rushed application & blending time
* About $25 – I will be buying two more before they are all gone 😥
* Everything I want in a lipstick (coming from a non-lipstick girl!)

MAC lipstick *****

19 Oct

Now this is a lipstick I love.

I recently bought this exact colour a couple weeks ago. And I LOVE it. It lasts a long time and doesn’t easily wipe off while eating and drinking. It’s a make a few swipes and last all night kind of party lipstick.

This colour is called “Rebel” and it’s a great blend of a berry/purple colour. And good for many skin tones!

“Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.” MAC website.

My rating…!

Sensitivity – full star, it moisturizes my lips and doesn’t irritate them at all!
Effectiveness – full star, noticeable colour and long lasting effects!
Procedure – full star, easy to apply and doesn’t take long.
Bang for your buck! – full star, it’s $14.50US and I think I paid about $18 with tax, for a product that lasts long on my lips and feels good, and also the tube lasts a long time since you don’t always have to re-apply!
Presitge Factor –  full star, smooth, long lasting, nice little container.

No complaints from me. MAC is hands down my go-to for lipstick, and it will now forever stay that way.

Revlon lipstick, don’t do it! *1/2

18 Oct

So, I always feel like I am on the search for a sweet red lipstick. Here I thought I found one in Revlon. Boy was I wrong! This post is here to save you the at least $7 or $8 you’ll spend on a lipstick. Don’t do it, spend a few more pennies and invest in MAC.

This is the exact container and colour of my Revlon lipstick, I don’t remember the name of it, I apologize. But I promptly threw it out after feeling like my lips were dry after a night of wearing it. Or having to CONSTANTLY re-apply it and it smudging all over, and on my teeth (NEVER a good look!!!).

Here’s my rating breakdown of the Revlon lipstick.

Sensitivity – no stars, it left my lips un-moisturized.
Effectiveness – 1/2 star, I noticed the colour, but it sure didn’t stay long.
Procedure – One star – easy and quick to apply.
Bang for your buck – no stars, I threw mine away, along with the money I paid to purchase it!
Presitge Factor – no stars, unless you feel prestigious with lipstick on your teeth!

Overall Revlon lipstick earns *1/2 total in my books!

REVLON Lipstick *3/4

14 Feb

There are many lines in each brand of “off the wall” lipsticks. I tried the exact one in the photo. This lipstick was brought out as a mimic to Chanel – I decided to put my hatred for “off the wall” products aside and give this product a try anyway. The color is actually good at first, but it doesn’t stay put very well. It felt more of a thick soft creme on my lips This product claims to be a moisturizing lipstick, so this could be where some of the slip is coming from, but I still demand my lipstick knows how to “SIT AND STAY!”

Aside from the actual feeling of wearing this <crap?>, there are “rumors” going against the health of Revlon lipsticks – I have actually heard first hand stories from a former coworker at a cosmetics counter. This lady (who has been a cosmetics professional for many years) told me of how she had to have small moles removed as a result of wearing lipsticks such as those from Revlon. So as pretty as the packaging my be ladies, always be careful!

Texture: Creamy

1/4 Somewhat effective
* Easy to use, minimal application time
1/2 Line regularly goes on sale at select retailers

Recommened Use:
